B's Sports Locker: NFL Football

As a devout Denver Broncos fan it feels good to have my team as one of the only 2 teams in the AFC with an undefeated record of 5-0. Having the crazy offseason that we had everybody in football society had wrote Denver off. The offseason was a wild one indeed, and it pushed me to the limit as a fan. I felt that with the firing of Mike Shanahan was not in good taste due to the fact that we finished 8-8, and we had about 5 running backs injured. With a couple offseason key additions Corey Buckhalter and Brian Dawkins I felt that we were on a good track. Then came the dilemma with Jay Cutler and the new coach Josh McDaniels, which led to us trading our "Franchise Quaterback Jay Cutler" and received some draft picks and...Kyle Orton. At first I didn't like Orton for our quarterback but I felt like base on his last year stats that he was coming into a great situation. He was surrounded by a plethora of weapons with Brandon Marshall, Eddie Royal, Brandon Stokley, Tony Scheffler, Corey Buckhalter, Peyton Hillis, and Knowshon Moreno. Going from throwing to an unestablished receiver/elite return specialist (Devin Hester), and a rookie halfback (Matt Forte) and a good tight end(Greg Olsen) to those weapons I named is like going to quarterback heaven. Denver had a rough start going 1-3 in the preseason. During that time these dilemmas with our Franchise WR(B Marshall), which you can refer to my previous post about him and that situation. Even after all of that I was still excited to see the new system and new defense. At 5-0 Denver is finally getting the respect that they deserve. The defense is one of the best in the league and Kyle Orton has been playing great football. He threw his first interception of the year last game but it was a hial mary pass which Randy Moss picked off(which was his only catch of the day s/o Champ Bailey) The rest of the schedule is still tough but i think Denver Broncos really believe in themselves and this system. I am content but Monday night vs rival's Sand Diego Chargers will be tough, hopefully we win.

B's Sports Locker: USC vs OSU

Supposedly our game USC versus Ohio State is the matchup of the week. I begged to differ. There's been a lot of talk about if we smash and thrash Ohio State this year with our "True Freshmen" quarterback that it will make a statement that Big 10 conference is weak. I also begged to differ. Reason being from what i seen and know is that Penn State is the returning Conference Champs and they also looked more impressive in Week 1. As for our "True Freshmen", i think its pretty hard to be called a true freshmen when you were the No1 overall player in your class, and especially when you have about 4 good backs to hand it off too, and a good receiving corp in your Wide Receivers and Tight End, and your line is experienced. But the kid was made for the spotlight and we will see come Saturday. Like i been saying all week tune in for that Notre Dame vs Michigan game, that will be the game of the week.

B's Sports Locker: Brandon Marshall

Today in my sports world i have to vent about so much sports related topics, ya might as well "kiss the baby". Go Ahead.... Let's start off with T.Owens Jr. aka Brandon Marshall. Let me get this out the way I do respect his wishes of getting a new contract but the manner he is going about it is definitely not professional and this is what makes me mad. The actions on the practice, wanting to get traded, and the sensitivity he carries around its just sickening as a Bronco fan to see that. Its no wonder why Joey Porter got all in his head last year. B Marsh got little kids who look up to him and this is not how you carry yourself as a professional. When you get to the league there is a certain way you are suppose to carry yourself. I feel during the time where Mike Shanahan got fired and Jay Cutler got traded, B Marsh has loss sight of that. I really hope he doesn't get traded, I rather we keep him and he doesn't play the whole year, and especially its his last year in his contract so he will lose all leverage in the free agency market because teams will give him the label as a prima dona and a cancer in the locker room. He will pretty much have an NFL version of Allen Iverson free agent period in which it will be tough to find a team that will put up with that.

Life is what You Make it

For those who don't watch Sportscenter, this story was a touching story that brought tears to my eyes. It was on Outside the Lines segment, i think 2 weeks back. Its always nice to see people overcome obstacles in life. It also reminds everyone that we should be thankful for what we have and to be happy that we are not in a terrible situation. I hope that this inspires everyone to have faith in whatever they want to be in life.

NBA Playoffs is the best thing on TV!!

Whats good everybody, i've been thinking about posting this for a long time because it really is bother to see this. What i'm talking about is how David Stern and the NBA is promoting Lebron and Kobe as if both player's respective teams clinched the NBA Finals. We all know that is what the NBA wants to see, and by the determination that NIKE and Vitamin Water commercial of pushing out mad commercial of both these players it makes me NOT want to see these two play for a chip. Aight bump that im lying but a part of me doesn't want it to happen. The Lakers got they hands full with Denver and the Magic(Most People dont know thats the correct way to call Orlando lol everybody i know adds an "S") really hold a match up problem for the Cavs. As well with the promotion of these two players it divides friendships because LeBron fans say Lebron is the best in the world and Kobe fans think the same about Kobe. I respect both players and all i got to say that there will not be a discussion by the time Lebron reaches his 10th season or even 13th season. He might break almost every statistical record in the league. Imma leave that for another day though. Im out im bout to go to sleep,

Sidebar: Courtney Lee def dunked on Lebron twice

Wildout weekend!!!

Wild ouuuutttttt!!!!! Yo my weekend was crazy!!! So on friday Lupe and N.E.R.D. Came thru and tore the house down!!! Both did a good job on stage. I didnt expect anything less from them in all honesty. The Caution Dance team got to take a pic with Pharell. Which was cool and Lupe was out ASAP he said he was heading to Jersey. I had a good floor seat but my female entourage was a tad too short to see the stage from where we was at and plus wehd this big speaker in our view as well so we smooved off to the stands. We had terrible seats but I could see everything so it was cool. I got back to my apt OD late and I had to be up at 8:30 to leave to go to Six Flags!!! So today I dragged my tired ass(sorry little kids reading this) out the bed and got on the bus. Weather was on point today it really felt like summer out there. I been to six flags so many times and today as my fist time on the Superman(yoooooouuuuuuuu)(pause) but the ride was crazy(pause). I really felt like Superman.

Sidebar the prices at Six flags are ridiculous, yo they were charging 6 dollars for some ice cream lol. Luckily my school got us the food waivers with our tickets. I got the chicken tenders at the Character's Cafe, shouts out to them for always holding me down and never disappointing me with they food.

The NFL draft was today and I'm feeling good about the Broncos picks. Hats off to my boy Mike's team for drafting Mark Sanchez. That's a good look real talk. Shouts out to the Niners my boy J serv team for scooping Crabtree its a vital piece in their 10 year plan of getting back to the playoffs. Who else to shout out umm ohh yeah RC and his Eagles scooped up Maclin and Mccoy. Yo I just thought of this while typing maclin and jackson is a nice look both them jokers can return kicks too. Man Madden gonna be crazy this year I can't wait!!! Shout out to my brother Bill for not knowing who Donald Brown is but later on remembering.

I got to go finish watching Kobe destroy Ronnie Brewer defense as well as the res of the Jazz lol

Im really debating on canceling my myspace since i dont really go on anymore and getting a twitter. Imma keep ya updated if i get a twitter page.

Florida Gators Pay Homage

via ESPN.com

University of Florida has engraved the speech that Tim Tebow gave after a 1pt loss to Ole Miss. I have to say this was one of the most motivational speech i ever heard from a college athlete, some pro can't even come up with something so creative and uplifting. Im not gonna front Tim Tebow had me wanting to put the pads on and go tackle somebody. I bet after that speech if he was to tell his team to go ou tand play Mississippi i guarantee ya they all woulda ran out there ready to kill Ole Miss. LOL Regardless I still don't think Florida would have beaten USC if they woulda played for the National Championship. Check out the Speech for those who don't know what im talking about.

This is a Movie I Have to See

If people went out to see Biggie's story in the theaters the same crowd has got to go see this movie. I grew up on Mike Tyson, I still remember where I was when he lost his first fight to Holyfield. This trailer looks interesting and i wouldn't mind finding out what was going thru Mike's mind in certain times in his life.

Sidebar: I can't take anybody serious with a lisp like Mike. I seen him drop grown men and I still laugh when i hear him talk.

NBA Playoffs is Around the Corner

So You know what that means right?? The NBA gonna bust out those dope commercials to promote the playoffs. I seen the D Wade one today, but i couldn't find it on the tube so i posted "the MVP runner up" LeBron James commercial. LOL I really be stating D Wade case for MVP to everybody that think he not. Im tired of hearing the best player on the best team in the equation real talk. But imma cut it off right there and leave that for another day. Maybe the day after the MVP is officially announced. LOL Check the clip out:

There's something about #12

The Other day i put on my aim away message that Jordan wore number 12 for one game because someone stole his jersey. Its crazy that #12 was my jersey number in high school. I found the footage of the game where he wore #12. The quality kinda sucks but u can tell where Jordans at even it was 100 dudes balling on the court. He the one dropping buckets on the rest of the 99 dudes LOL Check the video out he dropped 49 buckets in a game that went to overtime.

A Star in the making

I caught my boy Andre Berto fight last night on HBO, he slipped up in the first round but held it down and beat up Luis Collazo. Berto is a Haitian Boxer from Florida and as the clock runs down for big name boxers like Oscar De La Hoya, Berto is coming up in the game and in 2009 looks like you will be hearing from him even more. Berto is 24-0 and got 19 Knockouts, and he is the WBC welterweight champion. He represented Haiti in the Olympics as well. Berto got the fastest hands since Floyd and with the people in his corner he may be as dominant as a Floyd Mayweather. We will have to wait and see in the future about that tho. Haiti Stand Up!!! Check out the video of my boy goin in!!

The RedStorm has ended

With a national championship berth on the line the fellas on St Johns Red Storm lost in double overtime to the Maryland Terrapins (yuck)! St Johns played hard but Maryland was more hungry. The Terp was on the attack the whole game and got off mad shots on goal. Shout out to Neal Kitson, the St Johns goal keeper, the senior was balling forreal, he really did all that he could to keep the season alive. He made nine saves and they were all great plays. The Red Storm played as if they just was trying to get to penalty kicks while the Terps was playing like they was trying to get out of there with the W. On a positive note the Red Storm had a great season, they finished the season at 19-3-3. Sidebar i really texted all the Maryland natives that go to St Johns with me, and told them to watch the game so they can see the Terps lose and my planned backfired LOL! Its all good tho my boys gonna come back next year and take the chip!

A Wonderful Basketball Story!!!

This is a great basketball story, i really can't get enough of basketball story. I wish sometimes my senior year could have been a documentary. Check out part 2 below:

He shot his way out of New York

Picture quote "I Need Help, is there anybody out there???"
Somebody please tell me whats wrong with these athletes today??? Aight if you haven't heard by now, i will break it down for you what this Cheddar Bob ass retard Plexico Burress did over the weekend. He already was not playing in this past Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins due to having a hamstring injury. Regardless he been playing like ass the whole season except the first Week in the season. He goes "LQ's" a club in the city and bypass security i guess because they figured a NFL player ain't dumb enough to start spraying in the club because everybody would know who the shooter was if the player started letting off rounds. While in VIP this jerk's gun goes off and the bullet happens to find itself in his right thigh. Lets Play whats wrong with this scene, OK. 1) Why is he in the club if supposedly his hamstring is injured to the point where he can't go out and perform! Forreal like if you really felt that scared for ya life you shoulda kept yo bum ass in the house, Antonio Pierce was in the building and he wasn't strapped. The funny thing about this is that i really feel that Plex didn't have a holster for his gun and probably had his shit in his pants like Bishop did in "Juice". The shit wasn't on safety so he probably was doing the Superman and jumping around and the gun fell off his waist and shot its rightful owner in the thigh. Another thing is doesn't Plex know about the firearm laws, like whats so hard about getting license in NY, obviously you obtained one in Florida so you might as well should got a NY license. I'm done talking about this dumb guy i can get into how i drafted him in my fantasy football team and he has done nothing for me 2. Sidebar why do the black athletes keep the myth going about black athletes?? Matt Jones looked us out he was caught snorting cocaine and he still allowed to play in the NFL, LOL That's crazy But i always be telling my boys this, Why is it you never see Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Steve Nash in the club???... Another thing i can't wait for rappers to writing bars about fake players shooting themselves like Plexico Burress, i know rappers are going to have mad punchlines.
